Terms of Business

Last updated September 2026

These are the standard terms of business for work carried out by Landscape Brothers. Accepting a quote from us means you agree to these terms. If anything here is unclear, please ask us before the work begins.

Our commitment to you

We're committed to doing quality work and looking after our clients. That means understanding what you need before we start, working to the relevant standards and regulations, keeping a safe and tidy site, respecting your property, and keeping our team polite and courteous throughout.

Quotes and acceptance

  • A quote is valid for two months from the date it is issued.
  • Final pricing may be confirmed after we measure and assess the site, and can change if you request changes to the scope.
  • Any change to the agreed work requires a new or revised quote.
  • Accepting a quote — including by email to admin@landscapebrothers.co.nz — means you agree to these terms of business.

Site conditions and the work

Timeframes are our best estimate and can be affected by weather, ground conditions and access. We'll keep you informed if anything changes.

Where the ground, drainage or existing structures aren't as expected once work begins, we'll talk through any impact on the plan and price with you before proceeding.

Plantings and materials

Plants, lawns and other living material need time and care to establish. Once we hand over, their ongoing health depends on watering, weather and maintenance, so living material isn't covered by a workmanship warranty. We'll leave you with simple care advice to give everything the best start.

Natural materials such as timber and stone vary in colour and grain, and timber will weather over time — this is normal and not a fault.

What we're not responsible for

  • Damage caused by natural events, tree roots, or heavy machinery access that couldn't reasonably be avoided.
  • Work over a base or groundwork prepared by others.
  • Damage to underground services or pipes that weren't identified to us — please have these located and pointed out before we start.

Workmanship warranty

We warrant our workmanship for two years from completion, and will remedy any genuine workmanship defect reported to us within that time.

  • Failure to maintain the work or follow the care advice we provide.
  • Repairs or alterations made by others without talking to us first.
  • Fair wear and tear, or events outside our control.

Payment

  • We invoice on completion of the work, unless we've agreed otherwise in writing.
  • Invoices are due by the date shown on the invoice.
  • For larger jobs we may ask for a deposit or staged payments before work begins.
  • Payment can't be withheld or deducted without our prior written agreement.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
