Landscape Brothers came to be after we had a desire to offer a solution to homeowners to add those final touches to their outdoor living space why also creating street appeal.
So now we’ve had the idea, it’s time to plan how we execute our vision and so to the drawing board we went.
First things first, we realised we wanted to be a landscape company with a family first feel. This meant we needed to create a working with family for family culture where each day it feels like we are going to work with our brothers.
Landscape Brothers fit the vision so we set out to build a team of passionate landscapers who didn’t just want a job but wanted a career working in a company where it felt like they were too working with their brother’s day in day out with the vision of delivering a result that our Mum(s) would love. That is what we are about.
Ok so, we have a name and we have a passionate team ready to deliver the results, next we went out and sourced our suppliers to get us top quality products that won’t break the bank but will look amazing once done.
Once everything had fallen into place, it was time for us to start delivering the landscape results we have promised. With Sam at the helm with over 20years of landscaping experience across Canterbury and Marlborough Landscape Brothers are here to make you part of our family so give us a call today to discuss landscape solutions for your home.
When It Comes to Planting
At Landscape Brothers we understand that choosing your plants, shrubs or trees doesn’t stop at what will look good in your garden. We have put together some considerations you should make before choosing to help you make the right decisions for the best possible results.
Ground preparation is highly important when it comes to planting in Canterbury due to the changing soil/ground conditions we encounter in our beautiful province. From the sandy shores of Sumner and New Brighton to the clay layers of Rolleston and Lincoln, there are a few things to consider when it comes to choosing your shrubbery:
- Such as, does my plants or trees’ roots want a high-water content to survive or will they dive deeper in search of water in the ground to get the moisture they need to survive.
- If the water doesn’t drain away because the of the clay ground conditions, is my plant or tree susceptible to root rot.
- If you are planting in sandy or dry soil areas it is best to consider plants or trees’ that are more likely to send their roots deep in search of water and help with ground erosion.
- What is the drainage like on my property and how could this effect my plants and tree’s
All things considered with your ground conditions, there is a couple more aspects to consider before finalising you plants and tree’s to ensure they will survive the elements. Such as:
- Is my property susceptible to frost’s.
- Are my plants and tree’s going to be exposed regularly to the sunlight or are they going to be predominantly in the shade.
- How will the changes in temperature throughout the year effect my plants and tree’s in my property’s ground conditions.
Once all this has been considered and we’ve selected our shrubbery it is time for planting. At Landscape Brothers we only use top quality soil which is a 80% soil and 20% compost mix to give your plants and tree’s the nutrients they need to thrive. Why stop there, lets through in some slow release fertiliser tablets for some piece of mind that your shrubbery continues to get their nutrients why they establish themselves. We’ve taken care of things up until this point so all you need to do is water your garden.
